Not every job needs leather. In assembly, warehouse, packing and light workshop work the problem is not heat but dust, dirt and wear on the shirt sleeve. Denim sleeves are a light, washable answer for those tasks.
The short form with elastic at both ends keeps the sleeve from sliding during work. Thick denim lasts well in daily use and can be machine washed at a low temperature.
Denim sleeves are not designed for thermal risk. Where welding, grinding, casting or hot work takes place, leather sleeves must be used.
